The Diverse Youth NI Internship Programme offers students and early-career professionals the chance to gain hands-on experience in youth work, community development, media, communications, and project coordination. Interns become part of a dynamic team working to support young people from Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic, newcomer, asylum seeker, and refugee backgrounds across Northern Ireland.
Our internships are designed to be meaningful, supportive, and tailored to your interests. You will work alongside experienced youth workers, project leads, and communications staff, contributing to real programmes that empower young people and strengthen inclusion in our community.
What Interns Gain
Practical Experience
Interns work directly on projects, events, and youth programmes. This includes:
- Helping plan and deliver workshops
- Assisting with youth leadership sessions
- Supporting summer programmes and residentials
- Coordinating events and community activities
- Creating digital content and storytelling pieces
- Conducting research, documentation, or policy work
