CR8 & Play is Diverse Youth NI’s signature creative and play-based youth programme at our North Hub, designed for young people aged 7 to 14. It offers a safe, fun and inclusive space where children can express themselves, learn through play, make friends and develop essential life skills in a relaxed environment.

This programme blends creativity, wellbeing and youth work principles to help young people build confidence, curiosity and a strong sense of belonging.

What Is CR8 & Play?

CR8 & Play (pronounced “Create and Play”) is a structured yet flexible youth-work programme that gives children the opportunity to:

Play, explore and use their imagination

Engage in arts, crafts and creative activities

Build social and emotional skills

Develop confidence in a safe multicultural setting

Strengthen communication, teamwork and self-expression

Enjoy after-school time in a positive, supportive environment

What Happens in CR8 & Play (North Hub)

Creative Arts & Crafts

Painting, drawing, collage, clay work, bead making, design projects and themed craft sessions that help young people explore their creativity.

Interactive Group Games

Fun play-based activities, team games and problem-solving challenges that develop teamwork and social confidence.

STEM-Inspired Activities

Simple experiments, building tasks, puzzles and creative science activities that encourage curiosity and learning-through-play.

Cultural Exploration Activities

Sessions that celebrate global cultures through storytelling, food-tasting, art, music and shared learning experiences.

Wellbeing & Emotional Learning
