Volunteering with Diverse Youth NI is an opportunity to support, mentor, and empower young people from Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic, newcomer, asylum seeker, and refugee communities across Northern Ireland. Our volunteers play an important role in creating welcoming spaces, delivering programmes, and helping young people build confidence and leadership.

What Volunteers Do

Volunteers help with:

Who Can Volunteer

You can volunteer with us if you:

  • Are aged eighteen or above
  • Believe in inclusion, respect, and diversity
  • Enjoy working with young people
  • Can commit to occasional or regular volunteering sessions
  • Are willing to complete safeguarding checks and induction

We particularly welcome volunteers from multicultural backgrounds who can bring lived experience, languages, and cultural understanding to the team. Allies who share our values are also warmly encouraged to get involved.

Support and Training for Volunteers

We provide all volunteers with:

How to Volunteer

Getting involved is simple:

  1. Complete the Volunteer Expression of Interest Form
  2. Attend a short informal meetingto discuss your interests and availability
  3. Complete induction and safeguarding checks
